PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - Floods have again inundated parts of South Bandung. At least three districts have been inundated: Bojongsoang, Baleendah, and Dayeuhkolot. In addition to inundating homes, road access connecting the city and Bandung regency has also been disrupted.
"We've been directing traffic here since early morning. Many motorbikes and two-wheelers broke down, but some survived by wading through the floodwaters," said Bripda Gofar, an officer from the Bojongsoang Police on the Cikarees road in Bojongsoang, Bandung Regency, Tuesday (26/5/2026).
The water level on the road was around 20-30 centimeters. In residential areas along the road, the water level reached above an adult's knees.
"The important thing is that we first regulate traffic so it runs smoothly. This flooding started last night, at 10 PM," he explained.
Gofar added that the police hope that the government will immediately pump the water so that the water level does not get too high, so that traffic can flow more smoothly.
A similar situation occurred on the main road in Dayeukolot. The water level reached 50 centimeters. Motorcyclists were unable to pass at all, and cars were observed driving with extreme caution.
Some who know of an alternative route through a narrow alley, they use this access even though they appear to be very careful.
