PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has issued a stern warning to a cafe in the Lodaya area which has not yet fulfilled its obligation to pay taxes.
The cafe is known to have listed taxes on receipts but has not been registered as a taxpayer. Even though the cafe has been operating for two years.
Head of Bandung City Bapenda, Iskandar Zulkarnain admitted that he had given three warning letters. However, the cafe management did not respond.
"Tax is an obligation for all entrepreneurs in Bandung City, especially those engaged in restaurants, cafes, and hotels. This is important to support city development," said Iskandar on Jalan Lodaya, Bandung City (7/10/2024).
According to Iskandar, paying taxes is now easier with the E-Satria online application.
This application makes it easy for entrepreneurs to register without having to come directly to the Bapenda office. However, the cafe manager did not respond even though various facilities had been provided.
"We are taking this action of installing banners as a firm step so that the public knows that the business owner is not tax compliant. This tax is not for personal interests, but to support the development of Bandung City, which is highly dependent on income from the business sector," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bapenda Enforcement Sub-Division, Anthony Daulay added that his party had provided persuasive opportunities to business owners.
"We have given several appeals and warnings, but there has been no response. This action is taken to create a climate of justice for all tax-compliant entrepreneurs," Anthony explained.
In the activity, representatives from Kodim and the Prosecutor's Office were also present to accompany and ensure that the actions taken were in accordance with the rules.
He hopes that with this warning, other entrepreneurs will be more compliant with their obligations as taxpayers.
Bapenda also appealed to all entrepreneurs in the city, especially those who are not yet registered as taxpayers, to immediately fulfill their obligations in order to support sustainable development in the city of Bandung.
