PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Garut Regency held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) which focused on the Networking of Strategic Development Issues for the 2025-2045 period. Taking place in the BAPPEDA Hall, Jalan Patriot, this activity took place on Wednesday (17/1/2024), with the main topic being the economic and natural resources sectors.

The Head of Garut Regency Bappeda, Didit Fajar Putradi, emphasized the importance of this FGD as part of the process of preparing development plan documents. This discussion was attended by academics and practitioners, discussing evaluations and projections for the next 20 years, especially in terms of the economy and natural resource management.

"We invite them to discuss, they are given time to convey issues based of course on evaluations up to now of Garut Regency, such as from the PSDA side, yes, then what are their hopes for the next 20 years," he said.

Didit added that this activity also involved regional officials to put forward innovative ideas and suggestions, which would contribute to the economic development of Garut Regency.

"We hope that this FGD will produce ideas that will be very useful for the long-term development of Garut Regency," said Didit.

Didit said that on this occasion an issue network was carried out, by collecting issues that were closely related and had positive weight for developing Garut Regency in the next 20 years.

"So there we don't just convey the issue, but we discuss it directly. So the actual discussion has little weight, because we only have a lot of time to explore what the regional apparatus is doing based on the theme we are presenting today," he said.

He hopes that this FGD can provide more accurate ideas or colors regarding the needs of Garut Regency in the next 20 years, which will later be included in the Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) document.

"Insha Allah, we will also prepare the public consultation materials in the fourth week of January. We will hold a public consultation at the same time for the 2025 RKPD," he said.

Apart from discussions, this plan will also involve a public consultation scheduled for the fourth week of January, as part of the process of preparing the Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD).
