PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi Asep Surya Atmaja attended the opening of the 2026 West Java Crafts Week at Trans Studio Mall Bandung (26/6/2026) to promote Bekasi Regency's superior micro, small, and medium enterprise products to a wider market.
The Bekasi Regency Government presents various creative products, ranging from typical Bekasi batik, crafts, to handicrafts curated by the West Java Regional National Crafts Council.
One of the products that caught the attention of visitors was the mangrove ecoprint batik from Muaragembong District, which uses mangrove leaves as a natural motif.
Asep Surya Atmaja said that Bekasi Regency's participation was an effort to introduce the potential of a creative economy based on culture and local wisdom.
"We're bringing Bekasi Regency's signature batik, specifically the ecoprint mangrove batik from Muaragembong, one of the region's leading products. We want to demonstrate that Bekasi Regency boasts high-quality, competitive, and creative products worthy of wider recognition," he said.
According to Asep, the development of ecoprint batik proves that local potential can be transformed into high-value economic products through innovation, creativity, and sustainable development.
The Bekasi Regency Government is committed to strengthening the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enable them to produce competitive products that can penetrate national and international markets.
Asep appreciated the Bekasi Regency Regional National Crafts Council for its continued support of the artisans, enabling them to present quality products at the event.
"I commend the Bekasi Regency Dekranasda for their hard work in presenting a booth showcasing high-quality batik, crafts, and various creative products. This demonstrates that Bekasi Regency is not only known as the largest industrial region in Southeast Asia, but also boasts a rich culture, community creativity, and craftsmanship to be proud of," he said.
