PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Dharma Wanita Pertama (DWP) Garut Regency held a Choir and Story Telling Competition in commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the Garut Regency DWP. The event took place at the Pendopo Building, Garut City District, Garut Regency (9/11/2023).

It is hoped that this event can strengthen the spirit of togetherness and cohesiveness within Dharma Wanita Perempuan (DWP) and provide inspiration for members.

Gender equality is also a focus in the story telling competition, with the hope of bringing a deeper understanding of the role of women in society.

The supervisor of the Garut Regency DWP, Diah Kurniasari, who is also the wife of the Regent of Garut, expressed high appreciation for this activity. He stated that this activity gave pride to the mothers of DWP members and hoped that the pride hymn could be memorized well by all members.

"This is really great for beautiful mothers wearing clothes to make them proud as DWP wives. By holding this competition, it is hoped that there will be no one who doesn't know the Dharma Wanita pride song by heart," said Diah.

In her speech, Diah invited the participants to understand the meaning of the song and believe that art will provide happy colors in everyday life.

"Let's live the song, because the meaning is very deep, and if we implement it in our daily lives, art will color our lives, with art we will be brought happiness," he said.

Meanwhile, the story telling competition activity, said Diah, is also a means for DWP member mothers to increase their love of reading. He hopes that in the future a mother who reads diligently will produce great children in the future.

"Hopefully the story telling activity will increase our insight as great women, in the role of mothers who are always close to the family," she continued.

Diah emphasized that the strategic role of mothers in Dharma Wanita Perempuan is very important in supporting regional development. Through their role as ASN wives, they contribute to the progress of the country.

"This will support the husband's career in carrying out his work. The role of the mother who always accompanies the husband in his work as an administrator and member of Dharma Wanita has indirectly contributed to this country," he said.
