Thousands of Students in Bekasi Regency Receive Educational Assistance During Muharram

PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government together with the Bekasi Regency National Zakat Agency distributed educational assistance to 4,140 students to support the continuation of education and ease the burden on families (24/6/2026).

The assistance was provided through the Smart Bekasi Program in commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijri at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza.

The beneficiaries come from elementary schools, Islamic elementary schools, junior high schools, and Islamic junior high schools in various areas of Bekasi Regency.

Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, said that the Islamic New Year commemoration is a momentum to strengthen social awareness and improve the quality of human resources.

According to him, education is an important investment to prepare a superior and competitive generation.

"Through this momentum, let's make the hijrah a motivation to become better individuals, more caring citizens, and together build an increasingly advanced and prosperous Bekasi Regency," he said.

Asep emphasized that the educational assistance was a tangible manifestation of the government and community's concern for the future of children in Bekasi Regency.

The program is expected to help students meet their educational needs so they can learn more optimally.

He also appreciated the muzakki, donors, and all parties who supported the implementation of the educational assistance program.

This collaboration demonstrates the strong spirit of mutual cooperation in supporting educational progress in Bekasi Regency.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bekasi Regency National Zakat Collection Agency, Aminnulloh, explained that the Smart Bekasi Program distributed educational assistance and learning equipment with a total budget of IDR 2.76 billion.

Program funds come from zakat, infak, and alms collected from various groups in society, including civil servants and educators.

Aminnulloh said that this assistance is expected to increase learning motivation and support the educational success of students.

This program is also an effort to expand access to education for people in need.

Through this assistance, the Bekasi Regency Government hopes that more students can continue their education and achieve success.

Support for education is an important part of realizing a generation in Bekasi Regency that is intelligent, moral, and ready to face future challenges.
