PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Indonesian President Joko Widodo accompanied by Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin reviewed the implementation of simultaneous measurements and interventions in the context of reducing stunting at Posyandu Wijaya Kusuma, Kebon Pedes Village, Bogor City, Tuesday ( 11/6/2024 ).

At the Posyandu, children's height and weight were being measured as well as the distribution of nutritious food and supplements for pregnant women and toddlers.

A total of 105 people were examined during this activity, consisting of toddlers, pregnant women and brides-to-be. President Jokowi also distributed supplement gifts to recipients.

This simultaneous measurement and intervention is part of the government's efforts to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia, which is a national priority in the health sector.

President Jokowi said that stunting is a serious problem and requires synergy between the central, regional and community governments to reduce it. Interventions need to be carried out comprehensively and sustainably.

" Stunting is a serious problem that can affect the future of our generation. Therefore, intervention must be carried out comprehensively and sustainably," said the President.

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin hopes that President Jokowi's visit will provide a motivational boost for all parties involved in efforts to reduce stunting .

"We really appreciate the arrival of Pak Jokowi who will provide motivation for us to reduce stunting, " he said.

Bey said that the target for reducing stunting rates in West Java could reach 14 percent by the end of 2024.

He is optimistic that this target can be achieved if simultaneous measurement and intervention activities are carried out regularly.

According to him, in this way the handling of stunting becomes more accurate and on target.

"The target for reducing the stunting rate in West Java in 2024 can reach 14 percent. I think this method of measurement will be more accurate, on target, and participation will be high," said Bey.
