PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated the Sundanese drama festival at the Rumentang Siang Building, Jalan Baranang Siang, Bandung City, Sunday (13/10/2024).
According to Bey, in addition to preserving culture, the festival in Rumentang Siang will also increase the use of Sundanese among the younger generation.
"We welcome the holding of this Sundanese drama festival, because it is one way to preserve the Sundanese language and culture," said Bey Machmudin when met after opening the 22nd General Level Sundanese Drama Festival in 2024.
The festival will be held until October 19, 2024. On the first day, the community dominated by the genzi community was very enthusiastic, as seen from the full audience seats.
Bey was also seen enjoying the Sundanese drama which was full of meaning.
"There are so many young people watching, this is very good. I am also very happy to be able to watch Sundanese language theater, especially when it is held in this legendary place," said Bey.
Participants of this festival come from 20 cities and regencies in West Java. Bey hopes that in the future the number of participants will increase to produce many talented young talents.
"I hope that in the future there will be more participants to produce young talents or talented artists and this needs to be done continuously," he hoped.
