PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated the film entitled Dilan 1983: Wo Ai Ni, which is set in the atmosphere of the city of Bandung in the past.
Bey expressed his gratitude to Pidi Baiq (Writer of the Dilan Story) because thanks to him, Bandung became more famous.
"Bandung is becoming a concern again," said Bey Machmudin during a friendly event with the cast and officials of the film 'Dilan 1983: Wo Ai Ni', with the theme "Dilan Nganjang Ka Pakuan" in the backyard of the Pakuan State Building, Bandung City, Sunday (9 /6/2024).
Bey admitted that he had followed Dilan since the first film, namely "Dilan 1991". Then the sequel "Milea: The Voice of Dilan" was followed by the trilogy "Ancika: He Who Was With Me 1995".
Through the film directed by Fajar Bustomi, Bey hopes that memories of the atmosphere of Bandung in the past can be felt again, even if only on the big screen.
However, this will be a challenge for the government and development stakeholders to be able to maintain the beauty of the city of Bandung so that it is as beautiful as in the past, but still progresses with the times.
"This is a challenge for us to continue to keep the city of Bandung attractive and friendly towards immigrants. Of course we are also waiting for other films to be made," said Bey.
Bey also said that his party is open to other filmmakers who want to depict the city of Bandung or other cities/districts in West Java because they have various panoramas that are interesting to explore.
Apart from depicting the beautiful side of a city, Bey also believes it would also be interesting if a film could depict the new side of a city.
"Maybe next time there will be a contemporary picture, for example now Bandung has fast trains and so on," said Bey.
