SURAKARTA CITY -- Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin provided direct support to athletes from West Java who competed in the XVII Solo-Central Java National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) 2024, Friday ( 11/10/2024 ).

During this visit, Bey visited several match venues for various sports, including chess, badminton and para-athletics.

At the Lorin D'Wangsa Solo Hotel, Sukoharjo Regency, where the chess match took place, Bey Machmudin gave direct encouragement to the West Java chess athletes.

"Good luck to all, I hope you get gold," said Bey, igniting the athletes' spirits.

After that, Bey continued his visit to the Edutorium of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) to watch the men's badminton match between West Java and South Sumatra.

There, Bey not only greeted the badminton athletes, but also witnessed their actions on the field directly, showing his support for the West Java athletes who were competing.

The peak of Bey Machmudin's visit was at Sriwedari Stadium, Surakarta City, where the para-athletics competition took place.

There, Bey had the opportunity to present medals to the winners of the men's F42 category discus throw competition.

West Java athlete, Sutarno, won a gold medal, while Arta Suwarta won bronze.
Bey also gave a cash award worth Rp. 5 million to gold medal winners as a form of appreciation and motivation for the athletes.

In addition, Bey also presented a medal for the 400 meter race, where two West Java athletes managed to get on the podium.

Insyira Imana Sofrina won gold, while Alnida Itza Aulia won silver. After the medal ceremony, Bey also watched the men's 800-meter para-athletics race live.
Based on data from the npcijabar.id page, as of 19.45 WIB, Friday (11/10), West Java was in second place behind Central Java, by collecting 262 medals, with details of 87 gold, 84 silver, and 91 bronze.
