PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY -
Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin opened the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom, Bandung City, Wednesday (25/9/2024).

The largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia is an event for the public to see various new four-wheeled and two-wheeled automotive products, as well as the latest innovations and technologies released by manufacturers.

"This exhibition shows the level of technological progress is increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly," said Bey Machmudin.

At GIIAS 2024, in addition to fossil fuel-based cars and motorbikes, there will also be electric-based cars and motorbikes, spare parts, helmets, and merchandise.

Bey invites the public, especially in Greater Bandung, to visit this exhibition. GIIAS can also be a learning tool for vocational high school students and automotive polytechnic students by seeing machines with the latest technology.

"I entrust this exhibition not only to pursue the market for (the vehicles) to be purchased, but also to invite our children, vocational school students, polytechnic students, to see the exhibition," he said.

According to Bey, by seeing the exhibition, students and college students have their own experiences that will support the learning process. "This exhibition will update their (students') technological mastery, update their abilities, hopefully there will be a factory (automotive) that will provide CSR one car for each vocational school (in West Java)," said Bey.

Bey also invited the public to pay motor vehicle tax. Vehicle tax is one of the most important sources of regional income for West Java. The results will be used to build infrastructure and public services.

At GIIAS 2024, the West Java Regional Revenue Agency is giving special discounts for vehicle owners, namely a 10 percent discount on BBNKB and PKB. "Hopefully this exhibition will increase our income, people should not forget to pay taxes every year," he said.

Bey who reviewed the exhibition booth was impressed with the technology and new vehicle products. In addition to its high technology, good design, the price is competitive. GIIAS Bandung 2024 will last five days from 25 - 29 September 2024.
