PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin accompanied the Indonesian Minister of Trade Budi Santoso on a working visit to the PTPN VIII Downstream Tea Industry in Panyileukan, Bandung City, Monday (12/23/2024).
On that occasion, Trade Minister Budi Santoso appreciated the Walini Tea Downstream Industry PTPN VIII as one of the largest tea producers in Indonesia that has succeeded in penetrating the international market.
Walini's quality tea products are sent to a number of countries in the Americas, Europe, Australia and Asia.
With a direct export volume of tea in 2024 of approximately 9,200 tons (Bulky 8,500 tons, Blend IHT 649 tons, Walini Retail Brand 3,414 MC).
Meanwhile, a number of popular trademarks which are products of the PTPN VIII Downstream Tea Industry include Walini Tea, Goalpara, and Gunungmas.
"PTPN is good, not only pursuing the domestic market, but also pursuing the export market," said Budi Santoso.
"We have competitiveness, plantations, and can produce so that we don't fail to export, and of course we can also meet standards," he added.
Budi said that his party always supports domestic products to go international through Indonesian representatives abroad, such as attachés and other representative elements to continue to promote superior original Indonesian products.
"Every month there will be business matching with our representatives abroad so that it will be easier for us to penetrate markets in other countries," he said.
He also encouraged every business actor to continue to maintain the quality of their products because that is the only way to continue to compete in the market.
"PTPN has also created standards that are in accordance with the requests of the target countries. So congratulations to PTPN, hopefully we will not only dominate domestically, but also globally. Don't lose to other teas," said Budi.
