PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin accompanied the Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin inaugurating the Priority Referral Service at Al-Ihsan Regional General Hospital, West Java Province in Bandung Regency, Friday (16/2/2024).

Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital is transforming the health system into referral services, health financing systems, health technology and referral health services, especially cancer, heart, stroke, urology and nephrology (uro-nephrology) services.

"West Java is one of the provinces that really pays attention to health system transformation. We continue to strive to encourage partnership programs as a form of collaboration in health system transformation," said Bey Machmudin.

With this inauguration, Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital was designated as the main level hospital in providing cancer, heart, stroke and uro-nephrology services.

"This achievement certainly cannot be separated from the support of the Ministry of Health, West Java Provincial Government, and collaboration from other sectors," he said.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that with this transformation, it is hoped that health workers will focus on keeping people healthy.

"In the best health facilities, our job is not to treat sick people, but to keep people healthy. Our focus is on keeping people healthy, not treating sick people," said Budi.

Budi explained that the Indonesian Ministry of Health had expanded this service not only to vertical hospitals, but also hospitals owned by regional governments, including in the West Java region.

Apart from that, the Director of Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital, Dewi Basmala, said that the inauguration was an important moment.

According to him, the highest number of open heart surgery cases is in West Java.

"Even though the inauguration has just taken place, we have already taken steps for open heart surgery. This is a form of our commitment to providing quality services," said Dewi.
