
PORTALJABAR, BEKASI CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin accompanied the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka on a working visit to review the Jatiluhur I Regional drinking water supply system (SPAM) facilities in Bekasi City, Friday (20/12/2024).
SPAM Regional Jatiluhur I is one of the national strategic programs (PSN) designed to improve clean water services for the community. This SPAM utilizes raw water sourced from the Jatiluhur Reservoir to be processed into clean water.
The review by the Deputy Head of State was aimed at checking the availability and readiness of water supply to meet the needs of the community, especially in the Special Region of Jakarta, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, and Karawang Regency.
The Jatiluhur I Regional SPAM has been officially operating since Thursday (19/12) yesterday, with a flow capacity of 4,750 liters per second (lpd), which will serve the clean water needs of the people of the Special Region of Jakarta (4,000 lpd), Bekasi City (300 lpd), Bekasi Regency (100 lpd), and Karawang Regency (350 lpd).
This project has two Water Treatment Plants (IPA), namely the Bekasi IPA with a capacity of 4,400 lpd and the Cibeet IPA with a capacity of 350 lpd.
Bekasi IPA will serve Jatibening Offtake, Telukbuyung Offtake, East Sentra Offtake, and Tarumajaya Offtake. Meanwhile, Cibeet IPA will serve Karawang Offtake.
SPAM Regional Jatiluhur I is also projected to serve 380,000 house connections (SR) gradually in the next five years. So the facility becomes a means of providing quality clean water for 1.9 million people in four surrounding areas.
The operation of SPAM Jatiluhur I is also supported by other supporting infrastructure, including the Cilincing Distribution Center (DC) Reservoir, North Jakarta, with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, and the Pondok Kopi DC Reservoir, East Jakarta, which can accommodate 5,000 cubic meters.
