PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin confirmed his readiness to hold Simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, 2024, both for the election of Governor/Deputy Governor, Regent/Deputy Regent and the election of Mayor/Deputy Mayor in 27 regions in West Java.

He conveyed this in front of the ranks of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives during an audience at the official residence of the Governor of West Java at the Pakuan Building, Bandung City, Wednesday (11/13/2024).

"We have conveyed our readiness to face the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections," said Bey.

The delegation of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives to the Pakuan Building was led by Dede Yusuf as Deputy Chairman. This commission has a scope of duties in the field of domestic government, land, and empowerment of apparatus.

Their arrival was welcomed by the Acting Governor of West Java, Acting Regents, Acting Mayors throughout West Java, as well as the TNI, Polri, KPU, and Bawaslu.

Bey said that Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives emphasized that ASN neutrality and vigilance towards areas considered vulnerable must be given serious attention.

Bey is committed to ensuring that simultaneous regional elections throughout West Java run smoothly, safely, peacefully, honestly and fairly.

"There are several messages that we must follow up on, such as ASN neutrality, readiness, and vigilance. They want the simultaneous regional elections throughout West Java to be smooth, safe, peaceful, honest, and fair. This has indeed become our commitment," said Bey.

Regarding the rampant fake news, hate speech, and racial issues on social media ahead of the simultaneous regional elections, his party has involved the Communication and Information Service together with Bawaslu and the police to increase vigilance.

"For supervision, we have Bawaslu, the police, and the Communication and Information Service also involved," he said.
