PORTALJABAR, SUKABUMI REGENCY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin inspected several disaster locations due to prolonged heavy rain in Sukabumi Regency, Thursday ( 5/12/2024 ).

The first point reviewed by Bey Machmudin was in Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, which experienced landslides. He said he would focus on evacuating residents' safety.

"We are reviewing from Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, the first focus is on evacuating (safety) residents and the second is also focusing on transportation that has been cut off by landslides and there are several roads and bridges that have been cut off, that is the focus first," said Bey Machmudin.

According to Bey, the distribution of logistics, both food, drinks, and clothing, will continue to be carried out to areas isolated by the disaster. If the road is cut off, ships will be used and that has been done.

"And logistics to isolated areas can be done by ship, even if land is cut off by ship, this has been done, and our main post is in Palabuhanratu," explained Bey.

For residents' houses experiencing landslides, Bey is asking the PVMBG to conduct an analysis so that the priority is the safety of residents.

"Of course we prioritize the safety of residents, so residents remain in refugee camps, we will ask PVMBG to assess this location whether it is indeed no longer suitable for habitation, if it is no longer suitable it must be relocated. There are several alternatives for relocation, we will try to PTPN for this relocation," he said.

In addition, regarding the restoration of electricity, Bey reported that a PLN team consisting of 300 people had been working 24 hours to repair the damage. However, the safety of officers remains the main priority.

"But their safety remains the main priority, considering the conditions, if it doesn't rain they will continue working, if it rains they will stop because their safety must also be our priority," he stressed.

The number of victims who died in the landslide incident was three people, and there are still four people who are still in the search stage until now. With the number of affected residents as many as 103 heads of families and the data is still being updated.

After reviewing the landslide disaster in Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, Bey Machmudin visited the flood location, precisely at the Palabuhanratu Health Center.

Next, Bey reviewed the Sabuk Loji-Palangpang route, access to the Ciletuh Geopark, which was cut off due to landslides and collapsed bridges.

Met after reviewing the collapsed bridge, Bey said that he would carry out parallel work on the bridge at three points with a work duration of 1.5 and a half months.

"This handling process itself requires a month and a half, there are three points. One and a half months with parallel work," he said.

"The first thing we inform you is that this road (access to Ciletuh Geopark) is cut off and there is an alternative via the Waluran T-junction," concluded Bey.
