PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting West Java Governor Bey Machmudin inaugurated Ade Zakir Hasim as Acting Regent of West Bandung in the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Saturday (15/6/2024).

Ade Zakir Hasim is the Regional Secretary of West Bandung Regency. The inauguration of Ade Zakir Hasim is contained in a letter from the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy of the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Acting Governor of West Java Number 100.2.1.3/4513/OTDA as well as the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs (Kepmen) Number 100.2.1.3-1308 of 2024 concerning the appointment of the Acting Regent of West Bandung.

To Ade Zakir, Bey Machmudin advised him to maintain his integrity and serve the people of West Bandung, because in fact the main key in leading is prioritizing the values of honesty and being fully responsible for maintaining the welfare of the community.

"Maintaining integrity, hopefully because he is the regional secretary, he already knows exactly what legal rules must be obeyed," said Bey.

"Integrity is the main foundation of leadership, which relies on the values of truth, honesty and transparency in facing various challenges. Actions and decisions must always side with the interests of society and be carried out with full responsibility," he added.

According to Bey, the main task as a regional head is to provide the best possible service to the community.

"Prioritize solving existing problems and focus on programs that have a direct impact on people's welfare. Going directly and listening to their aspirations is a form of important public service," he added.

Ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, he also emphasized that he must maintain neutrality and not take sides with certain political interests. Focus on the interests of the people and completion of work programs.

"Neutrality is our reflection in maintaining public trust and regional stability," said Bey.

Then, Bey hopes that Ade Zakir will be aware of disasters, especially landslides and land movements which tend to be vulnerable in West Bandung.

"I conveyed to the acting regent earlier that apart from (during the inauguration) the problem of moving land in West Bandung. There is a lot of moving land causing disasters," he said.

"So there must be education for the public to be careful. This happens during a long dry season and then it rains. Hopefully it won't happen again. We are heading into the dry season but sometimes it rains, even though it's not frequent but for a long time, it can be dangerous. Be careful of disasters," Bey concluded.
