PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin on behalf of the President of the Republic of Indonesia inaugurated the Regent of Karawang Aep Syaepuloh, Acting Regent of Kuningan Iip Hidajat and Acting Mayor of Banjar Ida Wahida Hidayati in the West Hall of Gedung Sate Bandung, Monday ( 4/12/2023 ).

Aep Syaepuloh, who was previously Deputy Regent of Karawang, officially replaced Cellica Nurrachadiana who resigned. According to regulations, Aep Syaepuloh will serve as Regent of Karawang until the Simultaneous Regional Elections in October 2024.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Kuningan, Iip Hidajat, replaces the pair of Regent of Kuningan, Acep Permana and Muhammad Ridho Suganda, whose terms of office have expired.

Iip Hidajat will continue to serve as Head of West Java Kesbangpol as long as he leads the Kuningan Regency government until the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

Ida Wahida Hidayati, who is the Head of the West Java Social Service, will lead the City of Banjar, replacing the Mayor of Banjar for the 2018-2023 period, Ade Uu Sukaesih.

After inaugurating and taking the oath of office, Bey Machmudin then left a number of messages to the three regional heads who were appointed. They are asked to carry out their mandate with integrity, transparency and sustainability.

"Carry out your mandate as well as possible and be a leader who listens to and responds to the needs of the community and plays an active role in sustainable development that is environmentally friendly," he said.

Bey also reminded that some time ago West Java Province had declared West Java Anteng (Safe, Neutral, Calm) and West Java Akur (Safe, Conducive, Harmonious) to realize the 2024 General Election and 2024 Regional Head Election which were conducive. This declaration is not just a ceremony, but the three regional heads who are appointed must be able to implement it and guarantee the conduciveness of the elections.

"We ask that the declaration is not only ceremonial but is implemented in its implementation in their respective regions. Ladies and gentlemen, we must be able to guarantee the implementation of elections safely, peacefully and smoothly and be able to maintain the neutrality of ASN, TNI, Polri," said Bey Machmudin.

Apart from this, the rainy season which has now entered almost all areas of West Java should be a serious concern for regional heads. Bey said that hydrological natural disasters, namely floods and landslides, must continue to be watched out for.

For this reason, regional heads are asked to diligently go to the field to remind the public of the potential for natural disasters and to protect residents who live in disaster-prone areas.

"Don't get bored this rainy season by going to the field because many of our brothers and sisters live in areas prone to landslides," said Bey.

"We as government administrators must provide a quick response to the community so that people don't complain because there are problems in the field that we haven't resolved," he added.

The duties, authorities and restrictions for acting regional heads appointed by the Central Government are regulated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government.

In this regulation, the authority of the Acting Regional Head is limited to four things, namely prohibiting employee transfers, canceling permits issued by previous officials, making regional expansion policies, and making government administration policies and development programs for previous officials.

After the inauguration of the Regent of Karawang, the Acting Regent of Kuningan and the Acting Mayor of Banjar, in the same place Bey Machmudin's wife then inaugurated the Chair of the TP PKK, the Acting Chair of Dekranasda and the Acting Chair of Forikan coupled with the inauguration of Mother Genre, Mother of Literacy, Mother of PAUD, Mother of FAD, and Chairman of Sekoper Cinta Karawang Regency.

Amanda Soemdi Bey Machmudin also inaugurated the Acting Chair of TP PKK, Acting Chair of Dekranasda, and Acting Chair of Forikan coupled with the inauguration of Mother Genre, Mother of Literacy, Mother of PAUD, Mother of FAD, and Chair of Sekoper Cinta, Kuningan Regency, and Banjar City.
