PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin released the West Java Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) contingent to take part in the 14th National Journalists Sports Week (Porwanas) in 2024 in South Kalimantan.
The release of the West Java PWI contingent of 65 people was carried out in the Gedung Sate area, Bandung City, Sunday (18/8/2024).
Bey believes that PWI Jabar athletes can achieve success in this Porwanas event.
"I am sure that fellow journalists from PWI West Java are able to face and overcome all challenges well," said Bey Machmudin.
"I fully support PWI Jabar which will compete in Porwanas XIV in 2024, which will be held from 19 to 26 August 2024 in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan," he added.
Bey assessed that the achievements of PWI Jabar athletes can be achieved as long as they are carried out through a simultaneous struggle process in the event. However, victory is not measured by the final result, but the process that is gone through.
"Success is not only measured by the final result, but also by the process of struggle and effort made," said Bey.
Therefore, Bey advised athletes to prioritize sportsmanship and responsibility in every match they participate in and prioritize the values of honesty.
"Therefore, I urge you to always uphold sportsmanship, honest values, maintain health, and continue to support each other," he added.
"I also wish you good luck in the competition. Hopefully you can achieve proud achievements and bring home victory medals for West Java," he said.
Bey also explained that journalists are not only news providers, but also agents of change who play an important role in maintaining and strengthening national values.
"I hope that this spirit of togetherness can be maintained and even become stronger in every step we take. Porwanas is a means for journalists to compete in various sports, strengthen relationships, and improve health and physical fitness," he concluded.
The total contingent of PWI West Java at Porwanas XIV/2024 is 65 people, consisting of 53 athletes and 12 officials.
