PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. MAJALENGKA - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin attended the inauguration of the Pertamina Talaga Manggung Young Generation Center (GGM) in Majalengka Regency, Friday (8/3/2024).

The inauguration of the GGM was carried out by the Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.

In his speech, Bey expressed his appreciation to the Minister of BUMN and Pertamina who played a role in the GGM development process.

"I express my highest appreciation to the ranks of BUMN and Pertamina ministers who played a role in the process of building this youth arena," said Bey Machmudin.

Bey said that the GGM would be handed over to the Majalengka Regency Regional Government to be responsible for its selection.

"We ask that the Acting Regent maintain it well and sustainably," he said.

"Because construction is easy, but maintenance is sometimes forgotten. If the building is not maintained it will definitely become dull, I ask that you entrust the maintenance of this facility," he said.

Bey believes that GGM can be well cared for by the Majalengka Regency Regional Government and filled with positive activities.

"I am sure that the Majalengka Regional Government can maintain and fill various productive and positive activities such as sports events and MSMEs," he said.

The location of the arena is also close to West Java International Airport (BIJB) Karyajati and access to the Kertajati Toll Road. Bey instructed to hold international events more often at GGM.

"This arena is close to Kertajati Airport, occasionally international events are held here so that Majalengka becomes even more famous," said Bey.

"This area will continue to develop, investors please invest their capital in Majalengka," appealed Bey.

Meanwhile, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said that GGM was one of the best in Indonesia.

He hopes that the facilities will be put to good use to produce a potential young generation.

"This place has given birth to national figures, which means that Majalengka's young generation has extraordinary potential," said Erick.

Erick explained, through Pertamina's CSR (corporate social responsibility), the revitalization of GGM Talaga Manggung was carried out well for use by the people of Majalengka for productive activities.

"We want to further develop the potential of the region so that its achievements can be improved. This is where Pertamina comes with its CSR to improve this GGM. Hopefully the people of Majalengka can use this facility well," he said.

Erick advised that GGM should be cared for well and not only for physical activities, but also for spiritual activities.

"I believe this place can become a cultural and educational festival event, a place for discussion and leadership education," he said.
