PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. CIANJUR - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Triadi Machmudin asked the Geological Agency, PVMBG and the Cianjur Regency Government to immediately carry out an assessment of the location where the land moved in Sukajadi Village, Jatisari Village, Bojongpicung District, Cianjur Regency.
This request was made by Bey after directly inspecting the location of the moving land in Jatisari which caused 65 heads of families to be displaced.
According to him, since last night, he has asked the Head of PVMBG Hendra Gunawan to immediately dispatch an assessment team to the location.
"I ask for an immediate assessment, is this (location) in the red zone and we have to relocate? Don't let the community not be given certainty about how they will move forward," said Bey Machmudin, Monday (29/4/2024).
Bey, who met residents at the refugee camp, admitted that he had received complaints from residents who were currently leaving their homes because the land moving incident was still ongoing.
"The community said that the land still likes to move, thank you to the community for being aware that they have evacuated," he said.
According to him, the safety of residents at the scene of the incident must be the basis for the Regent of Cianjur and his staff to move quickly to provide certainty for relocation.
"What will happen to them in the future? Some were working, some were still at school, don't let them stay in refugee camps for too long," he said.
PVMBG, the Geological Agency, BMKG and BPBD Cianjur were asked to jointly carry out an assessment as soon as possible because in Bey's assessment, the affected communities must be relocated immediately.
"Everyone must be together, I ask for it as soon as possible. From the naked eye it feels like it is moving continuously, so it is no longer possible to stay here, we have to relocate," he said.
The West Java Provincial Government itself, in the transition period before the relocation decision, had prepared public kitchens and toilet requirements for residents.
He admitted that building a house at the relocation location could not be done immediately considering that land still had to be found.
"We are making maximum efforts as soon as possible. Previously 65 families would definitely have to relocate. I ask the Regent, the Geological Agency to come here as soon as possible to carry out an assessment," he concluded.
Bey himself visited the location of the moving land and had a dialogue with the residents only accompanied by the Head of Bojong Picung District, Azis Muslim and his staff.
According to him, although the case of moving land in Sukajadi Village, Jatisari Village has been going on since Thursday (25/4) evening and happened again on Saturday (27/4), so far only his party has visited the location.
Head of Bojongpicung Subdistrict, Azis Muslim, said that his party hopes that the arrival of the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin can accelerate the efforts of the team from the Geological Agency and PVMBG to immediately carry out a study and analysis of moving land in Sukajadi Village.
"We hope that as soon as possible there will be an analysis and study so that we can convey to the community the status of the land. If it is still suitable for habitation, we will invite the community to clean up damaged house materials, repair them independently, and also close access to water that emerges from cracks in the ground," he said .
If the community decides to relocate, Azis ensures that his party will immediately carry out the relocation stages, such as looking for replacement land.
Meanwhile, in the short term, according to the Acting Governor's orders, he immediately set up a public kitchen at the Jatisari village hall.
"Next, we want to sort them first because we will separate some of the residents who are still in their houses, those who want to be in tents or in the village hall. Previously, we with BPBD and the Cianjur Social Service discussed that public kitchens would be easier to concentrate in the village, there are 65 families, he said.
