PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin said that recipients of the Urban Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) program are currently in the process of being recorded so as not to misdirect the target.
"We are recording the data properly, so that we don't target the wrong people," said Bey Machmudin when met at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Monday (11/25/2024).
Bey explained that those who will live in the simple rental housing facilities (rusunawa) need to have a commitment to be willing to be given training so that they can be independent and earn an income.
"What is their commitment like and also we have to make sure that they don't come back (stay temporarily)," said Bey.
"They will be given training because they must have skills," he added.
Bey said the program would be launched and targeted for two new "towers" in Rusunawa Rancaekek and Solokanjeruk to be completed by the end of December 2024.
"West Java is an example (of launching the program) with Jakarta. The target is that the houses (rusunawa) will be ready by the end of December," said Bey.
"The challenge is that in this very short time, the Regional Secretary (of West Java) and the team must be able to prepare them (aid recipients) both in terms of skills and socially," he said.
Meanwhile, West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman explained the classification of recipients of the program, namely the extremely poor.
"The qualifications for extreme poverty are not having a home and a job, meaning they are working odd jobs. It is truly extreme in urban areas," said Herman.
Herman said that the two new "towers" being prepared have a capacity of 58 units with an area of 36 square meters and each unit is equipped with furniture.
"We have checked directly in the field, each tower is new and "full" with very representative furniture," he said.
"One "tower" has 58 units. So there are 116 units in total, while there are 100 KKs. So we have 16 reserves. Regarding the "clear" rusunawa, there are no problems," said Herman.
