PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin watched the Indonesian National Team match against China with residents on Jl. Diponegoro, Bandung City, Tuesday (15/10/2024) evening WIB.
The organizers prepared three big screens due to the high enthusiasm of the public to watch the Indonesian National Team compete in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian Zone.
Wearing the Garuda National Team jersey, Bey mingled with residents who had filled the joint viewing area (nobar) since the afternoon.
In the match, the Indonesian National Team lost 1-2 to China. This was the first defeat in the event. Even so, Bey considered the Indonesian National Team played quite well by controlling the course of the match.
"The Indonesian national team controlled the course of the match. I think the game was very good and earlier they were unlucky, if the game was good and the public also appreciated it," said Bey.
"They (the public) really miss the National Team that has achieved and there is still hope actually and we support each other, hopefully the National Team can win in the future," he added.
In the previous three matches, the Indonesian National Team drew 0-0 against Australia, then 1-1 versus Saudi Arabia, and 2-2 against Bahrain.
Before the joint screening took place, there was a tumpeng cutting ceremony as a form of gratitude for the success of the West Java contingent as the overall champion at the 2024 PON.
