PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated the passport making service for 1,000 applicants at the 2024 "Imifest" Immigration Festival which was held at the Sabuga Building, Bandung City, Saturday (22/6/2024).
According to Bey, the service innovation initiated by the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in collaboration with the TPI Bandung Class I Immigration Office will make it easier for people to obtain passports.
Usually, passports are only made at the TPI Bandung Class I Immigration Office, which is always crowded with applicants every day.
"Thank you for the 1,000 passports that were given. This is much awaited and needed by the community, it can be seen from the morning that many have come," said Bey.
Not only getting a passport, the public is also given education about the correct stages of applying for a passport and what is needed and prepared before leaving abroad.
"Here, people are also provided with safe tips for traveling abroad," said Bey.
He hopes that services like this can continue to be provided because the government's job is to serve the community well.
For this reason, his party will try to provide immigration services in shopping centers.
One option is to open services at Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) Mall because of its strategic location in the city center.
"To increase services because the Bandung Immigration office is always full, we will try to provide services at the mall. We have a BUMD that handles BIP, later we can work together. The location is strategic in the city center. We hope there will be immigration services there," said Bey.
Imifest 2024, which was only held today, was officially opened by Bey Machmudin. The ceremony was attended by the Director General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, and other officials.
The aim of this event is to bring immigration closer to the public so that they better understand immigration products and policies.
Imifest 2024 is packaged in the form of education, outreach and immigration services so that the target audience will support the implementation of the immigration system to facilitate services to the community.
