PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin became the Inspector of Funeral Ceremonies for the late Lieutenant General TNI Retired Solihin Gautama Purwanegara or familiarly known as Solihin GP, at the Cikutra Heroes' Cemetery (TMP), Bandung City, Tuesday (5/3/2024).

In his speech, Bey said that this State Ceremony was held as a tribute and appreciation to the Government and the Indonesian National Army (TNI) for the service, dharma of devotion and dedication of the deceased to the state and nation during his lifetime.

"We feel a deep loss for the deceased, especially for the family left behind," said Bey.

Bey said, Alm. During his lifetime, Solihin GP carried out his duties with exemplary enthusiasm and sincerity in continuing his service to the nation and state.

"However, as a human servant of God who is devout and believes in the greatness of His power and will, this event was accepted with full faith, humility and sincerity. Because the birth and death of animate creatures are only by His will," said Bey

"Let us all pray and forgive the deceased. May the mistakes and mistakes and sins of the deceased be forgiven and his soul be accepted by Almighty God and receive a glorified place," concluded Bey.

The 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, expressed his condolences in his speech as a representative of the family of the late Solihin GP.

"On this solemn occasion, on behalf of the family of Father Solihin GP and the entire family, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Government, the TNI and all the people who attended the funeral of our late father, Lieutenant General Solihin GP," said Jusuf Kalla

In his speech, Jusuf remembered Solihin GP as one of the nation's warriors and appreciated all his services to the nation and state.

"He is a national figure, a national figure who is highly respected by everyone for all his services to the nation and the state has given his devotion to all of us," he said.

"Because of that, we pray for the deceased to place his soul next to Allah Subhanawata ala, in a high place," concluded Jusuf Kalla.
