PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati opens flights on the Majalengka - Singapore route starting September 28, 2024.

It is Scoot airline that will fill the Majalengka - Singapore flight.

Ahead of the inaugural flight, there is a ticket promotion for IDR 450,000 that can be ordered by the public starting August 6, 2024.

"The entry of Scoot flights is expected to be a moment of revival for Kertajati Airport, considering that this airport has very adequate facilities," said BIJB Director Muhammad Singgih, Monday (26/8/2024).

In addition to promo tickets, there are also free shuttle travel tickets between modes from and to BIJB Kertajati. No less than 3,014 free shuttle tickets, 1,360 of which are from Scoot, which are valid until the end of December 2024.

The way to claim is simply to show your boarding pass or booking ticket and the shuttle officer will serve you.

Majalengka - Singapore became the second commercial international route after the previously opened Majalengka - Kuala Lumpur route.

Singgih hopes that the addition of these international flights will be the starting point for other direct flights to various parts of the world.

"We hope that with flights from Scoot, it can be an opening for Umrah flights and direct flights to the Middle East," said Singgih.

BIJB has more than enough capital. In addition to adequate facilities, BIJB also has a good track record because in this year's hajj season it became the official embarkation and disembarkation of hajj with the flight code 'KJT'.

The new Majalengka - Singapore route will also stimulate tourism in the north coast region such as Cirebon, Majalengka, Kuningan, and Indramayu.

The hope is to increase hotel occupancy, the emergence of new tourist destinations and new accommodations, as well as the growth of travel and travel agencies.

The new Majalengka - Singapore route will also improve connectivity between the two provinces.

"This direct flight to Singapore not only opens up travel access for West Java residents, but also Central Java residents around the north coast such as Brebes Regency and its surroundings," added the Head of the West Java Province Tourism and Culture Office, Benny Bachtiar.

Moreover, with the presence of the Trans Java Toll Road, the trip from Central Java to Majalengka has become shorter.

Likewise, for residents of Greater Bandung, with the presence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, BIJB can be an alternative.

"It is now easier for people to travel to Singapore, for tourism, medical treatment, business trips, or school in Singapore," concluded Benny.
