PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Leuwipanjang Type A Terminal in Bandung City is now increasingly neat and tidy, following the inauguration of an additional UMKM area in the terminal area.

More than 20 culinary street vendors now have a representative place, far from the slums. The inauguration of the UMKM area was carried out by the Director General of Land Transportation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Inspector General of Police. Risyapudin Nursin, S.IK, Wednesday (2/10/2024).

"Initially we want to help UMKM actors in the community around the terminal to improve their economy by selling at the terminal. We accommodate the place, we arrange it in a safe place and do not interfere with terminal traffic," he said.

However, Risyapudin asked MSMEs to continue to maintain cleanliness and comfort around their business premises, so that they always look neat and clean.

"That's what I emphasized earlier when talking to the UMKM players. Keep it clean and comfortable, so that it's comfortable and safe," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Service Unit Supervisor (Wasatpel) of Leuwipanjang Bandung Type A Terminal, Asep Hidayat, said that the arrangement of UMKM street vendors did not use government funds, but rather funds from cooperation with third parties.

"Like the UMKM space on the 2nd floor of the terminal building, the arrangement of the PKL area here also does not use government funds or the APBN, but CSR from sponsors or third parties," explained Asep.

According to him, more than 20 street vendors placed in the special area previously sold using wheels on the roadside of the terminal area. After the arrangement of street vendors, there are still other arrangements at the Leuwipanjang terminal, including the area of the former fire-damaged building that is being renovated and reused.

Acting Head of West Java Transportation Agency Ade Afriandi welcomed the arrangement of the Leuwipanjang UMKM terminal by the Ministry of Transportation. In addition to helping UMKM communities around the terminal, the arrangement makes the terminal area cleaner and tidier.

"Yes, we are grateful, the Leuwipanjang terminal has become neater, cleaner and better organized. We also want other terminals under provincial management to be like this," concluded Ade. (rep pun)
