PORTALJABAR, SUMEDANG REGENCY - The Binokasih Mulang Salaka crown will kick off the Padjadjaran Cultural Parade. The Binokasih crown will be paraded in a carriage from the Geusan Ulun Sumedang Museum starting point.

The procession of handing over Binokasih's crown to the golden carriage took place solemnly in the courtyard of the Geusan Ulun Museum, Saturday (2/5/2026).

The handover was witnessed directly by the King of Sumedang HRI Lukman Soeriadisoeria and his staff, the Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi accompanied by Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan, the Regional Secretary of West Java Herman Suryatman, the Regent of Sumedang and a number of officials from West Java Province and Sumedang Regency.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the Binokasih Crown parade has often been held in Sumedang using Jeeps. However, this year, the crown was paraded in a cultural procession.

"Starting this year, the Mahkota Binokasih will be paraded, no longer in Jeeps, but with cultural events derived from our ancestral values, taking it around West Java. It will stop at eight locations, then culminate in Bandung City, heading to Gedung Sate, and then back to Sumedang," said KDM, the governor's nickname.

He emphasized that Sundanese Tatar Day will be held annually under the theme "Milangkala Tatar Sunda." It will be celebrated not only in West Java but also in some villages in Banten and Central Java that still maintain Sundanese traditions.

Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir expressed his happiness and gratitude for the governor's attention to Sundanese culture, especially in Sumedang Regency.

"This is an extraordinary event, full of meaning, as a milestone reflects history and serves as a compass for the future of West Java and Sumedang," said the regent.

From Sumedang, the Padjadjaran Remembrance procession, carrying the Binokasih Crown, will proceed to Kawali, Ciamis, on Sunday. On Monday night, it will head to Kampung Naga in Tasikmalaya.

The procession then proceeded to Cianjur on Tuesday and Bogor on Wednesday. The remembrance journey continued to Karawang on Friday, then Depok on Saturday and Sunday in Cirebon Regency.

The peak of the Padjadjaran Tradition will take place in Bandung City in a cultural arts parade of regencies and cities throughout West Java on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

On Sunday evening, May 17, 2026, Peuting Munggaran Milangkala Tatar Sunda will host a colossal cultural performance at Gedung Sate.
