PORTALJABAR, SUKABUMI REGENCY - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) conducted a review of the construction of permanent housing (huntap) in Wanajaya Village, Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

This house was built after the flood and landslide that hit the Sukabumi area in December 2024.

At this stage, the handling conditions that were initially emergency response have now entered a period of preservation to transition to recovery.

This is stated in the stipulation of the Regent's Decree No. 300.2.1/kep.1009/BPBD/2024 concerning the determination of the emergency transition status to flood and landslide disaster recovery in Sukabumi.

The hunter model house is called Riksa (Strong, Healthy and Safe Instant House). This 6x6 house stands firmly on a plot of land not far from the main road. If you go inside, you will see two bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom.

This inspection was built with recommendations for earthquake-resistant house buildings.

"Currently, we see together behind, a model house has been built, because after the disaster in Sukabumi, it has now entered the recovery stage to Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, so we have started to rebuild the damaged houses," said the Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General TNI Dr. Suharyanto.

Temporary data recorded that 2,106 houses were damaged by floods and landslides in Sukabumi, with 446 houses severely damaged, 470 houses moderately damaged and 1,190 houses lightly damaged.

This data may be added to along with the verification process in the field which is still ongoing at this time.

Dadang, a resident of Wanajaya Village, as the homeowner also expressed his gratitude to the government.

Dadang, his wife and children were able to return home happily.

"I am very grateful to the government, my house has been rebuilt, thank God now I can go home with my wife and children," said Dadang.

On this occasion, Suharyanto also brought several representatives from 18 BPBD districts/cities in Indonesia to see the progress of the construction of the model house. This aims to provide enlightenment to other local governments so that later it can be accepted in their respective areas that have previously experienced disasters.

"With 60 million, a house like this can be built, please look at it and pay close attention, so that no one will be confused later about rebuilding damaged houses, so that in a not too long time the affected residents can return home and enjoy their rights," Suharyanto.

At the same time, Suharyanto also planted trees in the yard of the model house as a form of post-disaster recovery. There are a total of 13 trees consisting of durian trees and mango trees.

The second tree was chosen because it has ecological and economic value. In addition to providing shade, economic value is obtained from the fruit, while the ecological value of the tree's roots can be used to support the soil so that it can anticipate potential landslide threats.

Reflecting on previous incidents, unstable soil conditions and high rainfall are one of the triggers for landslides in several areas. It is hoped that with this tree planting, it can also be adopted in other areas that have similar potential risks so that it can be minimized by taking an ecological and economic approach.

After conducting the review, Suharyanto and his entourage immediately left for the Palabuhanratu Pendopo to lead the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) for the Acceleration of the Construction of Permanent Housing for communities damaged by the 2024 disaster.

In his direction, Suharyanto emphasized that the local government immediately complete the data collection process for damaged houses based on the level of damage and the residents' domicile. Thus, the transition period from emergency to recovery can run smoothly.

"So that the data on damaged houses can be resolved immediately, such as the construction of the Huntap houses that was used as an example, this is a manifestation of the government's seriousness, the government's speed in helping the difficulties of people affected by the disaster," explained Suharyanto.

Also present at the coordination meeting were Acting Governor of West Java Bey Mahmudin, Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami, Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of BNPB Jarwansyah, elements of the TNI-Polri, BPBD Province and Regency/City and the ranks of the Forkopimda. (rep No)
