PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan closed the 49th Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran at the Bandung City Level and at the same time emphasized the commitment of the Bandung City Government to strengthen the development of the Quranic generation and prepare the best delegation to face the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran at the West Java Province Level (23/7/2026).

At the event, Bojongloa Kidul District won the overall champion title, followed by Bandung Kulon District in second place and Rancasari District in third place.

Muhammad Farhan said that the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran is a means of building community character through understanding and practicing the values of the Quran.

"Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran is not just a championship that brings together the best reciters, qariah, hafiz, hafizah and participants from all over the city of Bandung. More than that, MTQ is a forum for developing the Quranic generation and a momentum to bring us closer to the values of the Koran in everyday life," he said.

Farhan appreciated all participants who had shown their best abilities during the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran competition.

"The MTQ is a noble endeavor to study, understand, love, practice, and apply the values of the Quran in our daily lives. Therefore, we must always maintain the spirit of learning, practicing, and striving for excellence," he said.

The Bandung City Government also targets to host the West Java Provincial Level Quran Recitation Competition in 2027.

"God willing, Bandung will be a proud host. Let us continue to make the values of the Quran the foundation for the development of a superior, open, trustworthy, progressive, and sustainable Bandung city in every aspect of community life," he said.

Saripudin, Chairman of the 49th Bandung City-Level Quran Recitation Competition Committee, said that the entire series of activities ran smoothly, with the assessments carried out objectively by the panel of judges.

Through continuous development, the Bandung City Government hopes that there will be more high-achieving Quranic generations who will be able to bring honor to the region at the provincial level.
