West Java BPBD and Joint Team Continue Search for Landslide Victims in Sukabumi

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A joint team from the West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Sukabumi Regency BPBD, and local authorities continue to carry out efforts to handle and search for victims following the landslide and flood disaster that hit Sukabumi Regency on Thursday ( 6/3/2025 ) at 19.00 WIB.

Acting Head of West Java BPBD, Anne Hermadiane Adnan, confirmed that today the team managed to find two victims in a state of death. Thus, the number of victims who died increased to three people, while five other victims are still being searched for.

"The three victims who have been found consist of one resident of Simpenan District and two residents of Palabuhanratu District," said Anne when confirmed, Friday ( 7/3/2025 ) evening.

Based on data collected until this afternoon, the disaster triggered by heavy rain also caused five houses to be slightly damaged, six to be moderately damaged, six to be severely damaged, and 145 houses to be submerged. In addition, 20 public facilities and social facilities were affected.

The impact on the community recorded 149 heads of families or 264 people affected, while 146 heads of families or 304 people were displaced. There are three heads of families or 10 people who are still in a threatened condition. Meanwhile, the calculation of material losses is still in process.

A number of sub-districts affected by extreme weather, landslides, and floods in Sukabumi Regency include the sub-districts of Kadudampit, Curugkembar, Simpenan, Palabuhanratu, Waluran, Bantargadung, Cisaat, Cikembar, Warungkiara, Sagaranten, Lengkong, Jampangtengah, Ciemas, Cimanggu, Pabuaran, Gunungguruh, Cikakak, Cicantayan, Cisolok, Sukaraja, Caringin, Cikidang, Jampang Kulon, and Purabaya.

The West Java BPBD appealed to the public to immediately report information related to disasters or visual monitoring in their areas to the authorities in order to accelerate handling.
