BPBD Accelerates the Process of Handling and Cleaning Landslide Material in Kuningan Regency

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) continues to coordinate with the Kuningan Regency BPBD to speed up the handling and cleaning of landslide material that occurred in six villages, namely Padahurip, Cantilan, Bunigeulis, Pakapasan Girang, Margabakti and Cimenga villages. . The six villages are in two sub-districts, namely Darma District and Selajambe District.

West Java BPBD Young Expert Public Relations Officer Hadi Rahmat said, apart from conducting assessments, the Kuningan BPBD coordinated with village officials, sub-district officials, TNI, POLRI, and the PUTR Service of Kuningan Regency in handling landslide disasters.

"As a result of the landslide, a number of people were affected. For example, in Bunigeulis Village, as many as three heads of families or 16 people were affected by the landslide. In Pakapasan Girang Village, as many as one head of family or four people were affected, while in Margabakti Village, seven heads of families or 26 people "lives affected by landslides," said Hadi in Bandung City, Monday (15/4/2024).

Apart from that, landslides also affected a number of public facilities, such as roads and drainage channels, and a number of houses suffered light and moderate damage. According to Hadi, the handling and cleaning of materials caused by landslides continues to progress.

One of them is the highway connecting Cipasung - Selajambe - Subang, Luluk/Sadagung Block in Padahurip Village, which has been passed by two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles carefully.

"Work on opening the access road that was covered by landslides with heavy equipment is still ongoing, work progress has reached 85 percent as of Sunday (14/4/2024) at 17:30 WIB," said Hadi.

The condition of the highway connecting Cipasung - Selajambe - Subang Block Gase in Padahurip Village is still not passable by two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Work on opening access roads that were blocked by landslides using heavy equipment is still ongoing with work progress at 75 percent.

Work on opening road access and cleaning up landslide material is still ongoing in Cantilan Village, Cimenga Village, Bunigeulis Village, Pakapasan Girang Village, and Mergabakti. Hadi said that residents whose houses were affected by the landslide had fled to their relatives' houses.

"Handling, work on opening road access and cleaning up landslide material is still being carried out and is being accelerated. All communities work together to clean up material blocking access," he said.
