PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Head of BPS Bandung City, Samiran released inflation data for Bandung City for February 2025.
In February 2025, month-to-month deflation occurred of 0.73%, year-on-year deflation of 0.50% and year-to-date deflation of 1.61%.
"The deflation that occurred in Bandung City was lower than West Java province and nationally," said Samiran.
In 2024, the economy of Bandung City will grow by 4.99%, slightly slower than last year (5.07%).
The growth was higher in West Java province (4.95%), but lower than the national figure (5.03%).
"The cause of the slowdown is mainly the slow growth of the processing industry business sector. From the expenditure side, there was a slowdown in household consumption and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB)," he explained.
In February 2025, there was month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation of 0.73%, year-to-date deflation of 1.61%, and year-on-year deflation of 0.50%.
The main contributor to deflation in February 2025 on a monthly basis was the housing, air, electricity, and household fuel group with a share of -0.76%.
The main contributors to inflation/deflation in February 2025 year-on-year were also the same, namely the housing, air, electricity, and household fuel groups with a share of -2.24%. The main contributor to electricity deflation in this group was tariffs.
Meanwhile, the food, beverage and tobacco group contributed 0.92%.
Meanwhile, the comparison of inflation in 10 cities and regencies in West Java in February 2025, Bandung City's month-to-month inflation position was the 3rd lowest (along with Bogor City and Depok City) after Majalengka Regency and Cirebon City.
For year to year, it is the 3rd lowest after Subang Regency and Cirebon City.
