PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - In an effort to shorten passenger journeys at Bojonggede Station, the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) plans to add the Bojonggede Skybridge route to the Jakarta platform.

Currently, to go to Jakarta, passengers have to cross the underpass at a considerable distance from the skybridge hall entrance. This transfer takes quite a lot of travel time, so a shortcut is needed to facilitate passenger mobility.

BPTJ Infrastructure Director, Zamrides, said that this year he will immediately prepare a detailed engineering design (DED) and continue with land permits from affected residents.

"We need to make initial preparations before the Bojonggede skybridge is extended to the platform leading to Jakarta. This is our effort to shorten the travel time of commuter users in Bojonggede. We will discuss the underpass first with PT. "KCI is like what is good," he said.

For the expansion plan, he added, there will be land belonging to affected residents. Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Service, Agus Ridallah, said that the Bogor Regional Government is ready to support the central government's efforts in terms of land availability.

"The plan to maintain land covering an area of ​​approximately 300 square meters will be carried out soon, we are waiting for certain calculations from the BPTJ of the Ministry of Transportation regarding the need for land that needs to be acquired later through the DED which will be prepared this year," he said.

Apart from extending the Skybridge, other improvements that will be made are covering the area that is disconnected from Bojonggede Station with the Skybridge with a canopy by PT. KCI.

Director of Commercial and Operations, Broer Rizal, said that this had been under consideration for a long time.

"We will immediately speed up the construction of this canopy, if there are no obstacles, it is hoped that in Semester I it can be realized soon," he added.

The Bojonggede Skybridge, which was inaugurated on December 9 2023 by the Minister of Transportation together with the Regent of Bogor and the Mayor of Bogor, is 243 meters long.

In contrast to the skybridge in Jakarta, this skybridge tends to have a distance that is not too far. Some examples include the Tanah Abang Skybridge with a length of 386.4 meters, the Velodrome Skybridge 500 meters, the Lebak Bulus Skybridge 307.5 meters, and the Velbak Skybridge 450 meters.

Bojonggede Skybridge is an integration facility built by BPTJ of the Ministry of Transportation for approximately 2 years.

"The aim of building the skybridge is to connect Bojonggede Station with Bojonggede Terminal so that it can reduce congestion in the station exit area and provide comfort to commuter line passengers," he added. (rdp*)
