PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Environmental Service has asked residents not to litter. This is because it violates Regional Regulation Number 9 of 2018 concerning Waste Management and perpetrators can be caught in a minor crime.
"Residents should not throw garbage on the road. Residents should also sort and process garbage and dispose of the residue to the nearest TPS, namely TPS Cikutra," requested the Head of the Bandung City Environmental Service, Dudy Prayudi.
As is known, a video of a number of people throwing garbage on Jalan Ahmad Yani Cicadas went viral. In the CCTV video capture, on April 9, 2025 at 17.00 - 23.00 WIB, around 98 people threw garbage along the road.
Monitored by CCTV, Disposal was carried out using a 3-wheeled motorbike 1 time. Carts 3 times, people 20 times and motorbikes 74 times.
Dudy also regretted this. Because his party has to transport the garbage every day. There are around 17 tons of garbage transported by DLH in the Cicadas area.
"It has been transported every day by our officers. Along the road in the Cicadas area, 17 tons/day are transported," he said, Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Regarding who throws out the trash, Dudy said that most of it is local residents plus people passing through the area.
"Mostly residents around the area, plus people passing by," he said.
To prevent similar things from happening, Dudy said, it requires law enforcement by the relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), as well as joint education with the region. This is to ensure that the area does not experience similar things again.
"Law enforcement by Satpol PP and education with local regional officials are needed to direct waste disposal to the nearest TPS, namely TPS Cikutra," he explained.
