PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin opened the 2026 Ngojay Kadua Champion Swimming Championship at the Talaga Bodas Aquatic Sports Hall. (June 20, 2026)

The championship is a training event for young swimming athletes from various clubs, schools and extracurricular activities.

Abdusy Syakur Amin appreciated the ongoing holding of the championship in Garut Regency.

He said that tiered competitions are an important part of producing high-achieving athletes from an early age.

"Earlier, there were also classes for ages 4 to 17, and of course, it must be continuous," he said.

Abdusy Syakur Amin hopes that the championship will continue to be held to support the development of young athletes in Garut Regency.

According to him, the regional government is committed to supporting the birth of athletes who are able to achieve at the national and international levels.

He believes that sports also shape the character of the young generation to be tough, disciplined, and competitive.

"No less important is how we encourage our children to be competitive, resilient, and persistent," he said.

The Chief Executive, Muhammad Jafar Rohman, said that the championship was attended by 545 athletes from various regions.

A total of 1,554 match numbers were contested for participants born between 2013 and 2019.

This championship is expected to produce young swimming athletes and improve the sporting achievements of Garut Regency.
