PORTALJABAR, SUMEDANG REGENCY - The Binokasih Crown Parade is one of the performances that the public can watch at the Binokasih Crown Parade in Sumedang Regency, Saturday (2/5/2026).

The Binokasih Crown is a very special crown. Not only is it made of gold, but it also holds a noble meaning.

Radya Anom Karaton Sumedang Larang Luky Djohari Soemawilaya said, the noble meaning is contained in both the name and the shape of the crown.

This crown is fully known as Binokasih Sanghyang Pake. Binokasih means affection, while sanghyang pake means worn in everyday life. Thus, the name Binokasih Sanghyang Pake implies that affection should be applied in everyday life.

"Compassion must be the source of action because compassion gives rise to the values of mutual cooperation, tolerance, deliberation, justice, and wisdom," said Luky, Thursday (30/4/2026).

Meanwhile, in terms of form, the Binokasih Crown also holds deep meaning.

The crown has three layers, representing the Sundanese concept of Tritangtu. This concept embodies the idea of silih asah (grooming), silih asih (compassion), silih asuh (upbringing), meaning sharing knowledge, caring for, and guiding each other.

Meanwhile, the decorative form of the wijaya kusuma flower and the hornbill in the Binokasih Crown depicts the meaning of loyalty, sincerity, and strength of will.

"So, the philosophy contained in this crown holds a message for us who are alive," said Luky.

Through the Binokasih Crown Procession, the meaning of the noble life embodied in the Binokasih Crown is conveyed to the community. Thus, its meaning can be passed on from generation to generation.
