PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is once again holding the 2026 Bandung Shopping Month as an effort to expand the market for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), increase tourism visits, and encourage regional economic growth through a series of activities taking place from June to August 2026.
Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Agency, Ronny Ahmad Nurudin, said the program was designed by involving various stakeholders, from the government, shopping center associations, business actors, to the creative economy community (4/6/2026).
Bandung Shopping Month 2026 is a continuation of a program that previously recorded an economic turnover of Rp101.07 billion and is expected to generate a greater economic impact for the community.
"Thank God, we've already entered the third year of Bandung Shopping Month. This year, God willing, we'll be back with a more collaborative series of activities," said Ronny.
The series of activities began with the Bandung Creative Market, which took place from June 8 to August 2, 2026, and featured hundreds of leading MSMEs from Bandung City.
The next agenda is the Indonesia Shopping Festival in August, initiated by the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association, and the Indonesian Discount Shopping Day, held by the Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Retailers and Tenants.
As the highlight of the event, the Bandung Great Sale will take place on August 21–23, 2026 at Laswi Heritage, featuring promotions for various superior regional products.
Ronny explained that the program aims to increase trade activity, expand market access for MSMEs, and boost people's purchasing power.
"This is a strategic agenda to stimulate the economy. We want to increase the competitiveness of businesses while strengthening the branding of local Bandung products," he said.
According to him, this activity is also an instrument to maintain the economic growth of Bandung City, which in 2025 will reach 5.29 percent.
This year's Bandung Shopping Month also involves the tourism, hospitality, culinary, and creative economy sectors so that the economic benefits can be felt more widely by the community.
"There's no competition, there's collaboration. We want all stakeholders involved to achieve a broader impact," he said.
Unlike previous years, the Bandung Great Sale will be centered in the Laswi Heritage open space to attract more tourists and expand the promotional reach of local products.
Ronny hopes that this series of activities will further establish Bandung as a shopping, culinary, and fashion destination that can attract tourists from various regions.
"We're targeting increased tourist visits, especially from outside the city. Bandung must become a prime destination for shopping, culinary delights, and fashion," he said.
The public is also invited to participate in the entire series of Bandung Shopping Month 2026 to support the growth of MSMEs and the regional economy.
