PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Bandung City together with the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has again launched the PMI fundraising month in 2024. The implementation, which will start from August 17, 2024 to November 17, 2024, is targeted to raise funds of IDR 1.8 billion.

"PMI Bandung City is an organization that has long been present in the midst of society as the spearhead in various humanitarian actions, both in dealing with natural disasters. It is also able to help accident victims, to raising blood donations that are greatly needed by the community," said Acting Regional Secretary of Bandung City Dharmawan at the 2024 PMI Bandung City Fundraising Month activity, at the Pendopo of Bandung City, Thursday (15/8/2024).

He said that this humanitarian fund month activity is one of PMI's strategic efforts to garner support from all levels of society so that it can continue to provide the best service for those in need.

"I really appreciate this initiative and invite all people of Bandung to actively participate in this activity," he said.

Dharmawan added that the challenges faced by PMI are increasingly complex, both because of the increasingly frequent disasters caused by climate change, and because the need for humanitarian assistance continues to increase along with population growth.

"Therefore, our support, whether in the form of funds, manpower, or ideas, is very important to ensure that PMI can continue to carry out its noble duties well," he said.

He appreciated the dedication and hard work that has been done so far by the ranks of PMI Bandung City. He believes PMI will continue to be the front guard in providing assistance to those in need.

"I hope that this humanitarian fundraising month activity can run successfully and achieve the targets that have been set," he said.

He invited all levels of society to make the momentum of this humanitarian fund month a vehicle to strengthen social solidarity.

"We hope this can increase concern for others. I am sure, with the spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation, we can create a stronger, more caring, and more prepared city of Bandung to face all challenges in the future," he said.

Chairman of the 2024 Bandung City PMI Humanitarian Fund Month Committee Asep Saeful Gufron said that the activity was an effort to socialize the role and function of PMI to the community. In addition, it fosters a spirit of togetherness, helping others in need.

"The implementation period for the 2024 Bandung City PMI humanitarian fund month will be carried out for 3 months starting from August 17, 2024 to November 17, 2024 and will be extended for 1 month if the target has not been achieved," he said.

He said, the target for the PMI Bandung City humanitarian fund month in 2024 is IDR 1.8 billion. Compared to 2023 with a target of IDR 1.7 billion, it is almost close to IDR 2 billion.

He said the fundraising targets were ASN, TNI, Polri, entrepreneurs, restaurants, entertainment venues, and donors.

"Regarding the big target, almost everyone, from ASN, entrepreneurs, restaurants, entertainment venues, all achieved the target," he said.
