PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Head of Bulog M. Attar Rizal guarantees that rice stocks are sufficient for needs until Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Bulog will continue to distribute rice stocks to the market, in accordance with orders from the head office.
"The rice stock controlled by the West Java Bulog is 93 thousand tons and 40 thousand tons are in transit. "So the total rice stock in West Java Bulog will reach 133 thousand tons," said Attar.
This stock will be used for SPHP rice distribution activities, both traditional markets and modern retail, Cheap Food Movement (GPM) activities, distribution of Food Aid, and stabilization of premium rice.
"We will continue distributing food aid after the election," said Attar.
In 2024, Perum Bulog West Java Regional Office will distribute 44 thousand tons of food aid per month, and will be distributed to 4.4 million beneficiary families in West Java.
"Since the beginning of January, we have distributed 17 thousand tons of SPHP rice to markets, both traditional and modern. We will continue this distribution, to halt the rate of increase in rice prices on the market," said Attar.
Attar said that supplies to traditional markets are carried out at least once a week, for modern retailers according to the demand submitted by modern retailers.
"Apart from imports through Patimban and Tanjung Priok Ports which will continue, we will optimize the supply of rice from within the country during the next harvest period. For the West Java region, the harvest is estimated to be from April to May, this harvest period has been postponed due to drought due to El Nino. "So our stock will continue to increase," he said.
