PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Bekasi Regency Government affirms its commitment to reorganize land use by controlling illegal buildings on state land.

The Regent of Bekasi said that the clean-up must be carried out with a humanist approach, without ignoring the enforcement of regulations for the sake of restoring appropriate land functions and creating an orderly and sustainable environment.

The statement was delivered after the Leadership Meeting for the evaluation of the budget and implementation of development in 2025 at the KH. R Ma'mun Nawawi Room, Cikarang Pusat Regency Government Complex on (22/4/2025).

"The regulation of illegal buildings is a regional government policy to restore the function of land according to its intended use," said the regent.

He emphasized that the approach to regulation must be educational and uphold humanitarian values in conveying understanding to residents.

"Many illegal buildings have been standing for a long time. We provide an understanding that the land belongs to the state and must be returned to its function," he explained.

The Regent instructed the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the Water Resources, Highways, and Construction Services (SDABMBK) to be active in the field so that the implementation of the clean-up is in accordance with procedures and pays attention to social aspects.

"Satpol PP and SDABMBK must be present in person. Don't let the program run, but the service is absent. This is our shared responsibility," he said.

He added that this activity was not merely a technical action, but a commitment to building an orderly and law-abiding environment.

"Violations are still violations. But the way to enforce the rules must educate the community to help protect the environment," he explained.

With an educational and humanitarian approach, the District Government hopes that the control of illegal buildings will run effectively without causing social conflict.

The success of regional planning depends on the firmness of the apparatus and the awareness of the community in maintaining order and supporting the government in realizing an orderly and habitable environment. (Diskominfosantik Kab. Bekasi/Fau)
