PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto emphasized that the direction of development in the West Bogor region is based on three main focuses: pursuing infrastructure development, strengthening the role of villages as a basis for development, and preparing new economic centers as a long-term strategy.

Since his inauguration on February 20, 2025, Regent Rudy has stated that development in the West Bogor region is a top priority.

"In the next two years, West Bogor must undergo significant change. We're pursuing it, especially in terms of infrastructure," he said.

Rudy revealed that several development projects have begun, including road repairs and construction in the Parung Panjang and Rumpin areas, as well as access to Sukabumi via Jalan Nirmala. Furthermore, landslide mitigation, street lighting, and retaining wall construction are also being accelerated, including through support from corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

Meanwhile, Regent Rudy also emphasized the importance of strengthening villages as a foundation for regional development. The Bogor Regency Government is encouraging villages to become more independent by increasing the allocation of village funds to Rp 1.5 billion and providing flexibility in their use for priority community needs.

Furthermore, a number of strategic programs have been rolled out, such as a program to ensure at least one graduate per village, integrated and regularly updated village data digitization, and streamlining village financial assistance regulations to make them more accessible and more targeted.

"Villages must be the spearhead of development. We want policies made in the district to truly be felt by the community," he explained.

Furthermore, the Bogor Regency Government is also preparing a long-term strategy to establish new economic growth centers, particularly in the western and eastern regions. One concrete step being prepared is the development of an integrated service center (KPTM) area, which will serve as the forerunner to a new government center in the region.

A number of strategic projects are also being directed to the western region, such as the construction of a waste-to-energy processing facility in Cibungbulang, the development of a large-scale sports complex in Rancabungur, and plans to extend the commuter line to Jasinga to boost connectivity and economic growth.

Rudy emphasized that the success of all these programs depends heavily on the synergy between regional and village governments.

"I work on the big projects, while the implementation on the ground is done in the villages. Therefore, unity and synergy are key," he stressed.

With these three main focuses, the Bogor Regency Government is optimistic that it can encourage equitable development while improving community welfare in a sustainable manner.

Meanwhile, representatives of village heads from West Bogor, represented by the Head of Kalong Liud Village, Jani Nurjaman, conveyed several strategic issues faced by villages in the West Bogor area.

"Thank you to the Bogor Regent for providing a space to socialize and express our aspirations. During this meeting, we were able to convey a number of our aspirations directly to the Bogor Regent," Jani said. (PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS TEAM / BOGOR REGENCY DISKOMINFO/rka)
