BOGOR - Acting Bogor Regent Asmawa Tosepu stated that members of the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) are the front guard in overseeing the 2024 simultaneous elections, so that they are safe, peaceful and conducive. He conveyed this at an audience with the Commander of the Satlinmas Team (Danru) throughout Bogor Regency, at the Tegar Beriman Building, Cibinong, Thursday (25/1/2024).

Asmawa Tosepu said that this meeting was in order to ensure the readiness of all of us as state administrators, including the Satlinmas Team Commanders in each village, to properly welcome the biggest democratic party in the history of Indonesia.

"The role and function of Satlinmas is very important in the implementation of this democratic party. "As the security forces who are closest and have direct contact with residents, Satlinmas members are at the forefront in starting the 2024 simultaneous elections, so that they are safe, peaceful and conducive," he said.

Asmawa asked Satlinmas members to strengthen synergy and cooperation with the TNI, Polri, and all stakeholders and components of society in maintaining the democratic party in Bogor Regency so that it remains conducive. He is confident that the presence and enthusiasm of Satlinmas members will be able to maintain the conduciveness of the Bogor Regency area in general, especially in their respective villages.

“February 14 is usually known as Love Day, but in 2024 we are changing it to Love Day. "Because all citizens who have constitutional rights, namely the right to vote, go to the polling stations together to elect the nation's leaders for the next five years," he said.

Asmawa further explained, based on Minister of Home Affairs Regulation number 26 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Public Order and Community Peace and Community Protection, the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) is part of the function of the Civil Service Police Unit which is specifically formed and prepared to carry out disaster management activities. , maintaining peace and protecting society, assisting with election handling and security, and assisting efforts to protect the state.

"I am sure and believe that the Satlinmas in Bogor Regency also really understand the election in accordance with Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 10 of 2009 concerning the Assignment of Satlinmas in Handling Peace, Order and Security in the Implementation of General Elections," he said.
