PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, received an audience with the Indonesian Airsoft Association (INASSOC) of Bogor Regency at the Bogor Regent's Hall, Tuesday (10/2/2026).

This audience is the first step in strengthening collaboration between the Bogor Regency Government and the airsoft community in fostering the younger generation, developing sports, and strengthening the tourism and creative economy sectors.

The Regent of Bogor welcomed INASSOC and emphasized the importance of community-based regional development. He stated that active and organized communities can provide a positive platform for young people to channel their interests, hobbies, and competitive spirit in a healthy and successful way.

"If you really feel like a hero, or feel tough, don't fight on the street. Focus on competitive sports. Airsoft can be a platform for character development and sportsmanship, while also preventing brawls and negative behavior," Rudy Susmanto emphasized.

The Bogor Regent also encouraged INASSOC activities to be more than incidental, but rather routine, including joint training, competitions, and outreach to schools, particularly those prone to brawls. He emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration with KORMI, Perbakin, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.

A number of strategic locations in Bogor Regency are planned to be used as centers for airsoft activities, such as the Pakansari Stadium City Forest, Situ Plaza, Cirimekar Square, and the city forest area currently being built in front of the Garuda Farmers Market and others.

"With regular activities, not only do sports achievements grow, but the local economy also thrives, tourism thrives, and youth development takes place. Hobbies are pursued, achievements are achieved, and Bogor is progressing," he said.

The Bogor Regent also emphasized the importance of regulation and registration of airsoft ownership to ensure all activities are safe, legal, and prevent misuse. He expressed his hope that INASSOC would play an active role in maintaining order and partnering with the government in building social awareness and environmental awareness.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Indonesian Airsoft Association (INASSOC) Bogor Regency Branch Management, Sigit Sasono, explained that INASSOC Bogor Regency was officially established on October 12, 2025, coinciding with the Bogor City Run Marathon activity facilitated by the Bogor Regency Youth and Sports Office.

Sigit explained the INASSOC Bogor Regency management structure, which involves representatives from education, security forces, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP). He believes this cross-sectoral involvement is a crucial foundation for developing airsoft as an educational, safe, and high-achieving community sport.

"Our main goal is to make airsoft a means of education, character building, and achievement, while still prioritizing rules, safety, and cultural values," he said.

INASSOC Bogor Regency also promotes a military simulation (milsim) concept that has been positively adapted through a local cultural approach, such as introducing strategic games themed around the Pandavas and Kurawas. This approach is considered effective in strengthening character education through recreational sports.

In terms of prevention, INASSOC Bogor Regency actively conducts outreach and education to the community and the education sector. One way to do this is through workshops and trials with the Bogor Regency National Sports Teachers Association (IGORNAS), involving junior high, high school, and vocational high school teachers. In collaboration with the Bogor Police and Perbakin, the organization aims to prevent airsoft gun misuse and improve understanding of regulations, including Police Regulation Number 1 of 2022.

Through this collaboration, the Bogor Regency Government hopes the airsoft community can be part of the solution in developing the younger generation, strengthening communities, and building a safer, more successful, and more competitive Bogor Regency.
