PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, attended the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Inter-Village Volleyball League at the Sub-district Level which took place at the Pakenjeng Village Volleyball Field, Pamulihan District, Garut Regency, Friday (1/8/2026).

In his remarks, the Regent of Garut appreciated the enthusiasm and passion of the participants who competed, especially in the final match of the women's category which was fierce and entertained the public.

"And I saw the match earlier, the women were so excited, it was great. Applause for the women's team, it was really intense," said the Garut Regent.

He emphasized the importance of upholding sportsmanship. He believed that rivalry exists only on the field, while a sense of togetherness must be maintained in community life.

"Of course, I hope this will be an event we hold annually going forward to strengthen the bonds of friendship and camaraderie among us all. So, if things go wrong on the field, it's not a big deal; it'll come back to you in the community," he continued.

Apart from being a means of strengthening ties, the Regent of Garut also advised parents to encourage their children to be active and exercise to maintain their health.

He urged children and young people not to fall into a passive lifestyle. He argued that any sport, such as volleyball or soccer, can build a healthy, strong, and resilient physique.

In addition, he reminded the public to maintain the cleanliness of the competition arena environment and maintain solidarity among residents.

"And I ask you to maintain cleanliness, maintain unity, and, God willing, through activities like this, the economy will improve, that's my hope, of course," he concluded.
