PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government held the 2026 National Defense Camp to shape the character of the younger generation while preventing the spread of intolerance and radicalism, (8/7/2026).
The three-day activity at Graha Patriot, Tarogong Kaler District, was attended by 183 students from 15 schools and six universities.
Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin invited the younger generation to strengthen national values and the spirit of defending the country as provisions to face future challenges.
Syakur said that national values must be passed on to the younger generation so that the commitment of the nation's founders remains intact throughout time.
"This is very important. We must pass on these national values to our children and the next generation. These values were pioneered and built into a commitment by the nation's founders, so today we must protect and preserve them together," said Syakur.
He hopes that continuous national defense training will produce a generation with strong character, love for the homeland, and be ready to contribute to Indonesia's progress.
