PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin attended the Ramadan Harmony in the Wrapping of Tolerance and Togetherness at the Harmoni Hotel Ballroom, Jalan Cipanas Baru, Tarogong Kaler District (2/28/2026), inviting residents to maintain harmony as the foundation of regional economic growth which recorded the best achievements in the last ten years.

Abdusy Syakur Amin believes that Indonesia's diversity demands that people not get caught up in seeking differences, but rather strengthen similarities through the values of Pancasila.

He invited residents to be grateful for the regional situation which remains safe and peaceful amidst the conflicts that have hit various countries.

"And we can start this by giving what we have to others and vice versa," he said.

Abdusy Syakur Amin explained that the rate of regional economic growth has increased and is the highest in the last decade, even though poverty challenges are still being faced.

The Garut Regency Government is encouraging downstreaming of the agricultural sector so that harvests have added value and farmers' incomes increase.

"Therefore, I ask for your help, ladies and gentlemen, to work together to make Garut a developed and great city. The main capital for this is security, order, and peace," he said.

A number of small business owners stated that the conducive situation has kept trading activities stable during Ramadan.

The initiator of the activity, Agustine Merdekawati, explained that the celebration of Chinese New Year 2577, which coincided with Ramadan 1447 Hijri, created a rare atmosphere of togetherness.

"This creates a rare cultural and religious harmony, a rare phenomenon that emphasizes tolerance, where Chinese New Year decorations blend with the Ramadan atmosphere, symbolizing the beauty of diversity," Agustine explained.

He added that tolerance means understanding each other without mixing beliefs and appreciating the role of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum in maintaining regional order.

"Hopefully, through this afternoon's event, we can further strengthen the bonds of friendship among our religious communities, and turn these differences into a rainbow that beautifies the Indonesian horizon," he concluded.
