PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, attended the Opening of the Danrem 062/TN Cup III Badminton Tournament in 2026 throughout the Korem 062/TN Region which took place at the Maung Korem 062/TN Sport Center, Jalan Baratayudha, Garut Kota District, Garut Regency, Tuesday (25/8/2026).

In his remarks, the Garut Regent emphasized the importance of consistently holding sports competitions as a concrete step to support central government programs. This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita No. 4, which mandates strengthening sports achievements to elevate the nation's dignity.

"Thank God, today we are all present at a competition that fulfills the three requirements mentioned above. Applause for Korem 062 Tarumanegara. The requirements are met because the schedule is organized, the classes are tiered, and there is continuity. At least today we are all participating in the third activity," said Abdusy Syakur Amin.

On the same occasion, the Commander of Military Region 062/TN, Colonel Inf. Dadi Sutandi, stated that this third edition of the tournament focuses on developing athletes from an early age to produce a generation of high-achieving badminton players in the future.

"So, I hope that these competitors will produce better athletes in the future, especially since we have been educating them from elementary school, junior high school, and high school," explained the Commander of Military Region 062/TN.

This tournament, which uses a knockout system, was attended by hundreds of participants from various levels, which were divided into two main categories, namely the Student Category with 268 participants and the General Category with 65 participants.
