PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin encouraged the Garut Regency Regional Revenue Agency to optimize Regional Original Income through concrete and measurable steps during a working visit to Tarogong Kidul District (20/7/2026).
Syakur said the challenges posed by central government transfer fund allocation policies encourage regions to strengthen fiscal independence by increasing regional revenue capacity.
"On the one hand, we also know that we are very dependent on regional transfers. On the other hand, we also want to gradually increase our ability to generate income and improve our own ability to independently increase local revenue," said Syakur.
He realized that efforts to increase regional income were not easy because the community's economic conditions still faced various challenges.
However, Syakur appreciated the ranks of the Garut Regency Bapenda who have an important role in maintaining the continuity of regional government.
"Of course it's not easy, so I think the gentlemen here, as Mr. Rizki said, are great people, who have broad responsibilities, which are very big regarding the existence of the Garut Regency Government," he continued.
To ensure revenue targets are achieved, the Garut Regency Government has opened access to transaction monitoring through Bank BJB so that regional revenue can be monitored in real time.
The monitoring covers various revenue sectors, from regional levies to Certain Goods and Services Tax (PBJT) on hotels, food and beverages, entertainment, advertising, and electricity tax.
Syakur emphasized that accurate revenue data is an important basis for compiling Regional Original Income targets.
He requested that the calculation of PAD targets in the General Budget Policy and Temporary Budget Ceiling Priorities be carried out carefully, excluding hospital and Regional Public Service Agency revenues.
