
PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin conducted a strategic working visit to the PT Indonesia Power Kamojang (KMJ) Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) located in Ibun District, Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). The visit aimed to directly inspect the renewable energy facility and strengthen the company's commitment to community development, particularly in Garut Regency.
The Regent expressed his pride in the existence of the Kamojang Geothermal Power Plant, which has high historical value and a real contribution to national energy security.
"Thank God, we are quite proud to be here. This is one of the oldest geothermal power plants in Indonesia. We hope this place continues to function properly because it makes a significant contribution to the development of our nation, especially in providing electricity to the people of Garut, West Java, and Indonesia," said Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin.
Meanwhile, Senior Manager of the Kamojang Oil and Gas Plant (UBP Kamojang), Yunus Tohir, expressed his appreciation for the Garut Regent's presence. He stated that the regional head's presence provided a tremendous boost of motivation for all employees at the UBP Kamojang.
Yunus also highlighted Garut's geographical potential, known as a "geothermal city." With strong synergy between the local government and power plant operators, it is hoped that a continuous supply of clean energy can be maintained for a more sustainable future.
"We hope the Regent's presence here will inspire all UBP Kamojang employees to continue contributing to the distribution of electricity throughout Indonesia with passion and sincerity. This will be 'green electricity' that will build the world's future and strengthen the government's program for Indonesia's prosperity," concluded Yunus Tohir.
